Reading time: 2 минути

On 15 June 2020, Vladimir Danailov became the new member of the Managing Board (MB) of the Fund of Funds (FoF). To date, Mr Danailov has served as Deputy Mayor responsible for digitalisation, innovation and economic development at the Metropolitan Municipality of Sofia.

Vladimir Danailov holds a BA degree in Industrial Management from the Sofia Technical University and an MA degree in Business Administration from the American University. He has a wealth of experience in the public and private sectors in Bulgaria and overseas. In 2016, he was appointed Head of the Privatisation and Investment Agency of the Metropolitan Municipality where he successfully enhanced the economic development and increased the interest of international partners and investors in doing business in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia. He has fostered strong partnerships with European capitals such as Vienna and London, and Sofia has been presented as a destination at a number of international events. The performance and results achieved by the Agency under his leadership have enabled the Metropolitan Municipality to establish a new department responsible for digitalisation, innovation and economic development, with Mr Danailov being appointed as its Head at the beginning of 2020 in the capacity of Deputy Mayor of Sofia.

Vladimir Danailov joins the team of the Fund of Funds at a time when most of the public funds managed by the FoF have been contracted and the Fund is being invested at an accelerated pace in specific projects and initiatives while fine-tuning and adjusting its instruments to better respond to the challenges of the outbreak of COVID-19. In parallel, the FoF should gear up for the new programming period 2021—2027 when its portfolio of financial instruments is expected to expand.
