At the end of March, the student organization StartUP@Blagoevgrad at the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) again will organize the three-day competition StartUP Weekend. At the invitation of the university team organizing the hackathon, our Executive Director Pavel Lisev will join the jury to evaluate the ideas.
StartUP Weekend 2024 will take place between 22 and 24 March at the AUBG campus in Blagoevgrad. Dozens of 2- to 4-person teams are expected to work on generating innovative business ideas. The event will again involve many students who will receive mentoring support from some of the most successful entrepreneurs in Bulgaria.
A high percentage of ideas from previous editions of the competition have been implemented after the hackathon. This is exactly the main goal of the student organization at AUBG - to give through the competition a platform for young people in the country and a path to the realization of their entrepreneurial projects.
The winners of the StartUP Weekend 2024 will win 5000 BGN to finance the business concept presented by them on the condition that the team will proceed to the actual implementation of the project after the competition. The top three teams will get access to mentoring programmes from Eden Tech Labs.
