The Fund of Funds has selected Thesis Ventures Association to implement a financial instrument - the Fund for Startups by Students and PhD Candidates, supported by funds under the Education Programme 2021–2027, co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund Plus.
The financial instrument will provide support in the amount of EUR 12.3 million, of which EUR 11.8 million public resources, for the creation and development of start-ups initiated by students and doctoral students with the participation of lecturers in higher education institutions.
Equity investments will encourage the transformation of academic knowledge and ideas into real entrepreneurial projects. The instrument supports the development of innovation in higher education and strengthens the connection between education, science and business, with a focus on a more successful transition from education to economic realization.
The investment period of the Fund for Startups by Students and PhD Candidates is until 31.12.2029.
