The Fund of Funds (FoF) and the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) signed a Cooperation Memorandum.
The signing ceremony was attended by Martin Gikov, FoF Executive Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Kamen Slavov, FoF BoD Member, Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov, UNWE Rector, Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova, UNWE Deputy Rector, and other officials.
The Memorandum provides for bilateral cooperation in the following main areas:
- support for the Start-up Hub established at the UNWE Inter-University Centre for Career Development (ICCD) by organising joint events, mentoring of start-ups, provision of guest speakers from the start-up ecosystem, examples of successful start-ups funded by FoF, etc.;
- promotion of student entrepreneurship in the field of innovation and intellectual property;
- provision of advice on the commercialisation of innovation and technology transfer;
- establishment of a financial instrument academy;
- implementation of joint projects;
- opportunities for internship programmes at the FoF for UNWE students;
- opportunities for training of FoF staff in the UNWE Masters and PhD programmes and their participation in specialisation courses organised by the UNWE Postgraduate Institute;
- delivery of open lectures by leading specialists in financial instruments.
The Memorandum will contribute to the promotion of student entrepreneurship and innovation; effective exchange of knowledge and ideas among academia, the business community and government institutions, as well as strengthening the connection between business and universities.
